A new Pacific Family Violence Training Programme is being developed and piloted by Pacific Islands Safety and Prevention Project. The programme aims to help eliminate violence in Pacific families and communities, by building the capabilities of Pacific family violence practitioners and service providers to provide culturally appropriate interventions to victims, perpetrators and their families.

The training programme is supported by the Pacific Conceptual Framework, a literature review and stocktake of Pacific family violence providers. The programme includes both ethnic specific programmes as well as a mainstream Pan Pacific programme and will be delievered free to Pacific providers.

A pilot of the training programme will be conducted with Pacific providers of violence services in New Zealand before being rolled out to wider services and providers.
