Social service organisation Shine* - Safer Homes in New Zealand Everyday have announced a new formal partnership with Family Works, the child and family services division of Presbytarian Support. 

This partnership will offer a continuum of services from crisis intervention to medium-term follow up with families in the upper North Island.

Services offered by Shine with Family Works will include crisis advocacy, social work, counselling and educative programmes for children, women and men.

The partnership between Shine and Family Works will offer:

  • A continuim of expert services from crisis to through to medium term follow up.
  • Services will include advocacy and social work services, programmes for women, children and men, plus increasing sector support in the provision of advice, education, training and consultancy.
  • Services, programmes for women, children and men, plus increasing sector support in the provision of advice, education, training and consultancy.
  • Increased capacity and geographic reach (Upper North Island).
  •  An enhanced ability for credible research and development to determine what’s working to reduce domestic abuse in families.
  •  Opportunity to establish a high impact, effective and sustainable education and training unit.

The Shine with Family Works partnership was announced at Family Works Leslie Centre’s centenary event on Friday 30th, which was attended by the Rt Hon John Key.
