Anti-domestic violence worker Grace Dorset has been recognised in the New Year's Honours list becoming an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for her services to Mōori. Grace has worked extensively over the last 20 years to provide counselling services through Te Akatea Iwi Tauawhi Trust in Rotorua. Grace believes that the biggest challenge lies within the community understanding the issue of domestic violence, as well as recognising a greater need for support and education for new mothers.
