The Wellington Te Rito Family Violence Network has launched a new billboard and poster campaign, and a website. The posters feature rugby, roller derby, the Laughing Samoans, members of Somali and Sudanese refugee-background communities and the Mayor of Wellington. Billboards and signs supporting the Te Rito Family Violence Network campaign will be displayed around the city for a month from Tuesday.

The campaign aims to raise awareness of family violence issues and agencies in Wellington where help is available. ChangeMakers Refugee Forum welcomed the new campaign. Anti-violence advocate Faduma Moallin said, "There is no culture that allows this. There is no religion. This is abuse. Full stop."
