NZ Early Childhood Research
10th Annual Conference and Symposia
Mon 4th - Tues 5th December 2006
The Conference is to be held at Whitireia Community Polytechnic, Porirua City , Wellington.
The purpose of the conference is to provide:
- A supportive, non-political, and stimulating forum for researchers to present, and for participants to learn about the latest research, research methodology, and theory in the early years of childhood (0 - 8yrs).
- Ongoing training and skill development for researchers through choices of training/workshop sessions offered within the programme.
- An opportunity for meeting researchers and strengthening professional networks.
- A great annual occasion for communicating your work to a range of people and organisations.
Five Symposia will be running during the conference:
- Child Research (focus on learning)
- Child Research (focus on health, protection, well-being)
- Parent, Family and Community Research
- Professional education, teachers' work, child and family specialists' work, and organisation research
- Policy Research and Policy Analysis
The closing date for submission of research papers for any one of the five symposia and for offers to lead workshop/researcher training sessions is May 31st.
Offers to provide workshops on a research method or methodology and workshops on skills for researchers (such as learning to write better proposals for funding, or use of computer packages for data analysis) are welcomed.
