Interested in issues affecting young people? Have a career ... or want one ... in social services or social justice? Want to work with young people?

If you answered yes to the above and are between 16 and 24 years of age, we would be keen to support you to attend the 10th Australasian Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect (ACCAN) from 13 - 16 February 2006 in Wellington, New Zealand.

This year's conference theme is Kia Puawai Ngā Tamariki, 'Working together to enable all of our children and young people to blossom' ... and is about increasing understanding and information on issues affecting children and young people including topics such as Children's Rights, Child Abuse in the Context of Family Violence, Resilience, Discipline and Guidance, Research and Children's Voices.

Young people are already involved in this conference as keynote speakers, performers and workshop presenters. Now...we need you to attend and support them.

In the lead up to ACCAN, we are hosting a one day Youth Forum on 13th February 2006 as part of the youth delegate registration fee. If you register at the discounted youth rate of $100.00 you are expected to attend the Youth Forum.

The Youth Forum is for young delegates between 16 and 24 years to gain skills in the area of public speaking, drama and facilitation skills to enable you to participate in the overall ACCAN conference. It's about building confidence to participate and to ask the questions you would like answers to. It's also about meeting other young delegates and having some fun...

You can get your copy of the registration form by emailing us back at children@occ.org.nz or calling us on 0800 A CHILD (0800 224453) and indicating you are calling Rebecca about ACCAN Youth Registration. Please provide your name, address and phone number.
