Media have revealed that Owen Glenn was arrested and charged with the physical abuse of a young woman in Hawai'i in 2002. He was charged with the "abuse of family or household members". He offered a plea of no contest when the case came before the court, meaning the charge was not contested or admitted. Owen Glenn denies the allegation and said he had resolved the case in Hawaii "to avoid further horrendous court costs, and to bring the matter to an end".

Owen Glenn has recently signed two declarations that he has no history of violence towards women or children: one for the Glenn Inquiry and one for White Ribbon, for which he has applied to become an ambassador. The Inquiry was not told of the charge. White Ribbon campaign manager Rob McCann said yesterday the charge would be considered in Owen Glenn's application to become an ambassador.

Updates: On 2 July, Owen Glenn continued to deny the offence but withdrew his application to become a White Ribbon ambassador.

Media reported that further Think Tank members have resigned this week, including Neville Robertson, Carol Hirschfield, Teuila Percival, Yvonne Crichton-Hill, Annabel Taylor, Susan Morton, Vivienne Elizabeth, Anton Blank, Janet Fanslow, Ian Lambie, Kirimatao Paipa, Mandy Morgan and international members Lesley Laing, Dipak Naker and John Carnochan.

On 5 July, office manager Jessica Thompson and administrator Emma Goodman resigned.

On 13 July, the NZ Herald spoke to the woman who was the subject of the 2002 assault charges, however she did not comment on the allegation.
