Government announces public sector targets
The Government today announced targets it has set for the public sector to achieve over the next five years. These include:
- Reducing the number of physical assaults of children under 16 years by 5% to below 3000
- Reducing the number of violent crimes committed by 20%
- Moving more than 20,000 people off the benefit
Each responsible ministry or department is "working on an action plan for how the targets will be achieved". These will be released "over the next few weeks". The targets sit underneath the "10 challenging results" the Government announced in March.
