Events listing policy

The purpose of the NZFVC events listing service is to inform those working on family and whānau violence of upcoming training, seminars, webinars, workshops, hui, fono, forums, conferences and community activities which support professional development. Consultation hui, fono and meetings organised by government and non-government agencies may also be listed. National and international awareness raising days or campaigns may be listed, usually as a single event posting with links to websites which may list events  throughout Aotearoa New Zealand or worldwide. Overseas event listing is limited to selected key international conferences, webinars and other events generally which provide professional development opportunities not available in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Information and contact details are as provided by the organisers. For further information or queries about events, refer to the source of the information: links or contact details are always provided. Event listing does not constitute endorsement by the New Zealand Family Violence Clearinghouse.

These events are not generally listed: courses and community events intended for victim/survivors, perpetrators, children, parents/caregivers, families, whānau, communities etc, regular organisational or network meetings, fundraising events and political party events.

Requests for events listing may be declined on the grounds that the event is not considered credible, evidence-informed or likely to advance work to eliminate family and whānau violence. All events are posted at the Clearinghouse’s discretion.

Formal educational opportunities offered by tertiary institutions or industry training organisations are listed on our Education and training page.
